Based on the book Playing with a Great Heart, this presentation introduces traditional games from Indigenous Plains nations. It includes live demonstrations, educational insights into the specific nations these games originate from, and practical guidance on how to integrate them into curricula and team activities.
This presentation is primarily designed for Indigenous organizations, community groups, schools, university classes, and those working with Indigenous youth. While it is also available to non-Indigenous organizations, it is not intended for use as a standalone presentation for events such as National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Louis Riel Day, National Indigenous Peoples Day, or Indigenous Peoples Month. The focus is on supporting sustained learning, engagement, and reconciliation efforts.
For more information or to schedule a presentation, please contact Cadin Dupasquier at cadin.dupasquier@masrc.com.

We acknowledge that the Manitoba Aboriginal Sports & Recreation Council Inc. (MASRC) operates on the ancestral lands covered by Treaty 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 10, as well as the lands of the unsigned Dakota Nations. These territories are home to the Anishinaabeg, Anishininewuk, Dakota Oyate, Denesuline, and Nehethowuk Nations, the Inuit in the north, and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.
As an Indigenous organization, the MASRC is committed to advancing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada's Calls to Action #87 - 91, which highlight the role of sports and recreation as tools for empowerment and reconciliation with Indigenous communities.
