The Manitoba Aboriginal Sports & Recreation Council Announces their 2023 Inductees for the Manitoba Indigenous Sports Hall of Fame

WINNIPEG, MB (April 5, 2023) - The Manitoba Aboriginal Sports & Recreation Council (MASRC) is honoured to announce this year's inductees for the Manitoba Indigenous Sports Hall of Fame. The Class of 2023 serves as another example of the countless ways in which Indigenous athletes, coaches, and builders have contributed to the world of sport here in Manitoba.

The Hall of Fame was the MASRC's response to the 87th Call to Action ratified by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada:

"We call upon all levels of government, in collaboration with Aboriginal Peoples, sports halls of fame, and other relevant organizations, to provide public education that tells the national story of Aboriginal athletes in history."

The Manitoba Indigenous Sports Hall of Fame and Museum supports the work done by so many to honour Indigenous Excellence nationwide.

On April 12th the Class of 2023 will be honoured in a ceremony and formally inducted in the all-Indigenous Hall of Fame.
