Research Opportunity: Exploring Participation in Indigenous Multi-Sport Events

A Master's student at the University of Ottawa is conducting a study on the participation of Indigenous people with disabilities in Indigenous multi-sport events. The research aims to understand opportunities for involvement in events like the North American Indigenous Games.
Seeking Participants:
- Event Organizers: Those involved in organizing Indigenous multi-sport events.
- Participants with Disabilities: Indigenous individuals who have participated in such events and experience disability.
- Non-Participants with Disabilities: Indigenous individuals with disabilities who have wanted to participate but have not been able to.
Criteria for Participation:
- Must be 12 years or older.
- Must live in Canada and communicate in English.
- Participation is limited to 5 people per group on a first-come, first-served basis.
Interview Details:
- Duration: 1 hour
- Format: Virtual (Zoom) or in-person (Ottawa area). Phone option available.
- Support: Participants may have someone with them for support.
Privacy and Confidentiality:
- Interviews will be recorded for accuracy, but participants can choose to turn off their camera.
- Recordings will be transcribed and then deleted. Participants will be given a pseudonym, and personal details will be kept confidential.
- Participants will have the chance to review and edit the transcript.
