Research Opportunity: Exploring Participation in Indigenous Multi-Sport Events

A Master's student at the University of Ottawa is conducting a study on the participation of Indigenous people with disabilities in Indigenous multi-sport events. The research aims to understand opportunities for involvement in events like the North American Indigenous Games.

Seeking Participants:

• Event Organizers: Those involved in organizing Indigenous multi-sport events.
• Participants with Disabilities: Indigenous individuals who have participated in such events and experience disability.
• Non-Participants with Disabilities: Indigenous individuals with disabilities who have wanted to participate but have not been able to.

Criteria for Participation:

• Must be 12 years or older.
• Must live in Canada and communicate in English.
• Participation is limited to 5 people per group on a first-come, first-served basis.

Interview Details:

• Duration: 1 hour
• Format: Virtual (Zoom) or in-person (Ottawa area). Phone option available.
• Support: Participants may have someone with them for support.

Privacy and Confidentiality:

• Interviews will be recorded for accuracy, but participants can choose to turn off their camera.
• Recordings will be transcribed and then deleted. Participants will be given a pseudonym, and personal details will be kept confidential.
• Participants will have the chance to review and edit the transcript.
