ASC's Event Coordinator announced

The Aboriginal Sport Circle (ASC) is pleased to confirm the hiring of Kelsey Dayler, as their Event Coordinator from October 11, 2017 to March 31, 2018.

Kelsey is a graduate from Lakehead University with a Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology Degree. She brings with her valuable professional experience from her roles as Director of Recreation in Hamlet of Tulita (NWT), Research Assistant with the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport, Administrative Assistant at Lakehead University Department of Athletics and Youth Leader / Inclusion Facilitator with the Boys and Girls Club of North Simcoe.

Her key responsibilities will include:

  • administrative and logistic support to the annual National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (NAHC), work as a member of the NAHC Working Group to provide support to the local host and successful hosting of the Championships.
  • coordinating the nominations, selection and awarding of the Tom Longboat and National Aboriginal Coaching Awards, work with the respective ASC Working Group(s), the Canada’s Sport Hall of Fame (Tom Longboat) and Coaching Association of Canada (National Aboriginal Coaching Awards).
  • a supporting role to the Executive Director for ASC’s anticipated future partnership with National Sport Organizations, Commonwealth Games, Canada Games Council and others.
