Since its inception in Opaskwayak Cree Nation in 1999, the Manitoba Indigenous Games (MIG) has served as a platform for Indigenous youth in Manitoba to showcase their sporting excellence while strengthening their ties to their heritage.
The Regional Manager oversees the Manitoba Indigenous Summer Games program in their region. The Regional Manager supports their Region with the implementation of all tasks (planning, logistics, communications, etc.) to ensure the coaches, managers, and athletes have success navigating the Games environment.
The role is a voluntary position. There are eight Regional Manager positions available, one per region. Preference will be given to qualified Indigenous applicants who reside within their respective region. All successful applicants must complete the MASRC Screening Policy.
Works closely with the Major Games Coordinator at the MASRC
Review and be familiar with the sport technical packages, sport schedules, policy and procedures, and communicate potential issues to the Major Games Coordinator in a timely manner.
Support the MASRC Major Games Coordinator and Host Societies with tasks, such as;
Collecting participant forms
Assisting with online registration
Uniform distribution & exchanges
Planning the travel to and from the tournaments
Communication with all regional Games partners and participants (including families) and providing information to participants and parents as needed
Attend and/or support the Games meetings either in-person or virtually
Ensure that all team members follow the rules, regulations, and policies of the 2025 Manitoba Indigenous Summer Games for the duration of the event.
Serve as the head of their region as the key communication link between regional team and the Host Society including:
Notifying teams of any changes regarding events and schedules.
Works with the Games Staff (as per discipline policy) for any code of conduct and Manitoba Indigenous Summer Games rule infractions.
Supports the Coaching Staff and Team Managers in fulfilling their roles and responsibilities
Attend daily Host Society meetings and communicates daily with Regional Team Coaches and Managers.
Assists with team operations and logistics including accreditation, accommodation, food, transportation, medal, and opening/closing ceremonies, planning for team "down-time", arrival/departure, village check in/out, etc.
Attend daily Manitoba Indigenous Summer Games meetings each morning.
Coordinate all roles and responsibilities for your region.
Promote the 2025 Manitoba Indigenous Summer Games, including the spirit of the Games, and have fun!

All listed meetings and or events are considered critical attendance for all Regional Managers to attend.

Coordinate qualifying tryout events for all 13 MISG Sports in your region
Develop plans for travel, accommodation, feeding for the entire contingent in your region
Promote MISG movent and all future events
Must have experience at a regional or national multi-sport games
Administration diploma, degree or related experience
Computer proficiency in MS Office
Proven skills in human resource management
Diplomacy, tact and judgement
Resourceful and self-motivated
Marketing, communications and fundraising skills
Excellent written and oral communication
Current and clear Driver's License and ability to travel for extended periods
Criminal Record Check & Child Abuse Registry
