Office Assistant
We are hiring one (1) part-time Office Assistant!
Position Description:
Join our dynamic team at the Manitoba Aboriginal Sports & Recreation Council as a part-time Office Assistant! In this vital role, you will support our mission to promote community engagement through sports and recreation by ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our office. Your contributions will help foster effective communication and a positive work environment within our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Director with tasks like filing, data entry, and document management to keep information organized and accessible.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to the right staff while maintaining professionalism.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, events, and travel arrangements for staff related to sports and recreation.
- Help maintain office supplies and property to ensure a well-stocked workspace and facilitate timely ordering.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with Microsoft and Apple products, Zoom, and other office technologies.
- Prepare and distribute memos, emails, and reports to keep stakeholders informed.
- Assist team members with projects and tasks to improve overall efficiency.
- Maintain a tidy and efficient office environment in line with organizational policies.
Work Schedule:
- 15 - 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some evenings or weekends required during peak periods. This position is based out of our head office at 145 Pacific Ave, Winnipeg.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Proficient in troubleshooting computer issues, including Microsoft products, Apple products, Zoom, and other office technology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an office assistant or in a similar administrative role is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Experience and knowledge of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities is a plus.
